Ultimate Fight Final Fantasy XIV Trailer Releases

I wish it was April Fool's Day, because this recently surfaced video from Square Enix would have been the perfect prank. Nevertheless, let me pitch this idea to you.

Do you enjoy Final Fantasy XIV?

Have you ever dreamed about a Final Fantasy XIV spin-off fighting game?

Even if the thought has never crossed your minds, Square Enix decided to tempt its fans with the release of the Ultimate Fight Final Fantasy XIV trailer. The teaser features the loveable, down-to-earth monk Yda facing the Gaius-obsessed fangirl Livia Orange Julius.

Sorry, I mean Livia Sas Junius. In the background you can spot Garleans, Magitek and blackmages cheering on the combatants. The battle system looks captivating, resembling Street Fighter IV's system.



Livia appears to be a powerful opponent, but... well, you will have to watch the ending to find out if Yda wins or loses, because the finale is rather cheap.

And side-splitting. Especially upon seeing Thancred being Thancred.

Side Note: Of course Minfilia would steal the spotlight, even if she doesn't do squat.

I truly wish this was an actual game set for release. What we can look forward to is the Heavensward Expansion, set for release on June 23rd. For now, you can view the new benchmark, featuring the almighty dragoon's limit break.
