Got your party horn? Ready to throw confetti around?

If you're confused as to why, then you're missing out on the Ultimate Chicken Horse Kickstarter Launch Party, hosted at Foonzo on April 16th from 6 PM to 9 PM EST.

So that's today. Like, right now. But in case, you're not there, you can always watch the Twitch Livestream.

Developer Clever Endeavour Games is finally releasing its animal-stuffed baby, considered the "ultimate challenge in platform gaming," into the world.

Besides the awesome name, what else can we expect in Ultimate Chicken Horse? Well, the main idea is to avoid your foes and cross the finish line as you run through a level filled with blockades, traps, contraptions, and projectiles, all set up by you and your friends. Thus, the level is actually built by the player, which changes the difficulty for each player on a personal level.

The goal of the game is to ensure that the level hard enough to prevent your enemy from finishing the level. If you manage to beat your opponent at the finish line, you earn a point, and after three points, you can claim victory.

There is a single-player mode, where the levels instead become a puzzle. You need to then try to clear the level by placing what you're given onto the level to help you through. As for types of blocks, the devs are shooting for 30 in the final version. There will also be quick-save levels, fully responsive and intuitive platforming controls, and a nice live-recorded funk soundtrack featuring instruments such as drums, bass guitar, electric guitar, organ, saxophones, trumpets, and other "mysterious" instruments.

So what will you be in Ultimate Chicken Horse? Well there will be eight total characters, but only four are mentioned - horse, chicken, raccoon, sheep.

I'm so going for the raccoon! Though I'd like to be a wolf if that will be unveiled.

Here are some of the features for each game mode:

Solo:
  • Online list of levels to choose from
  • Play in a global game of horse: create a level with 6 platforms and show it off. The level will be saved as your username until someone beats your course
  • Use level editor to create single player puzzle levels or time trial levels
  • Play online against friends
Co-op:
  • Play in competition mode, taking turns placing blocks in the level and winning points
  • Play the multiplayer party mode, where all players place blocks at once and all players run at once
  • Customize number of blocks placed per turn, the types of blocks available, and the number of points to win
  • Play with up to 4 players, all running at once to race toward the finish
  • Play online multiplayer in teams or every animal for themselves
Ultimate Chicken Horse aims to land on PC first, and hopefully, with enough backing, PS4 and Xbox One. If you would like to back them on their Kickstarter Campaign, you can throw money at them on this official page. You can also watch their official Kickstarter Video here, with the teaser trailer looming below:
