Bryan Lee O'Malley, the author of the Scott Pilgrim comic book series, recently tweeted out a short, to the point phrase:
PS. ubisoft has reached out to me
This, under context, is pretty significant. Ten years ago, Ubisoft published an arcade beat 'em up style game based on the Scott Pilgrim story. The game was short lived, however, because it was delisted from digital storefronts not long after, and it has remained absent since. This has made playing the game rather difficult for anyone who didn't purchase and download the game before its removal.
The game has a cult following, regardless of its rarity. And recently, they celebrated the 10 year anniversary of when it launched. The wave of interest must have caught Ubisoft's attention, because now they've reached out to the IP owner (O'Malley).
What they discussed is not publicly available. But given the circumstances, it's hard to imagine it would be anything other than a Scott Pilgrim game. Whether it's a new game or a revival of the original is a complete guess.
Personally, we'd love to see the game come to the Switch.
