Well. The game flirted with the racier side of things in a recent update, where the Valkyrie, and unsurprisingly all-female class, was given an execution called "No touching!" that, surprisingly, was pulled straight from an anime. All of them.
The Valkyrie stabs the fellow in the gut, so already he's having a bad day. But then he falls forward, grabbin' her chest. Apparently this pisses the Valkyrie off, so even though she was going to kill the guy anyway, she decides to bash him with her shield instead of killing him painlessly with the pointy stick she's holding. It's kind of funny, but at the same time, it's a real departure from a game where sex isn't even mentioned, and is a real shift in tone.
But before anyone could even complain about it being sexist, Ubisoft took it down. No more than a few hours later, and replaced it with another version, where the Valkyrie's shield blocks her chest so no one is grabbing any inappropriate lady-parts. Ubisoft commented on the removal, saying it:
“included an inappropriate gesture between the Valkyrie and her opponent. We felt it was insensitive content and thus changed the execution.”
Players, of course, have cried fowl and claimed censorship, but really... meh? Why poke the bear on this one? It's still a fun little execution and there's no real need to add something to the game like this so... yeah. If it bothers you this much, players, just... don't buy it.
