What's worse than a wild goose with a love for bells trotting through town and terrorizing the locals? How about two of them? Untitled Goose Game will be introducing a two-player co-op mode this September.
Nintendo recently hosted a video showcase called the Indie World Showcase, which previewed and revealed a number of indie titles for the Nintendo Switch. It also ended with a surprise announcement for Untitled Goose Game, the hit puzzle game by House House, introducing a cooperative game mode, allowing two users to play together.
We particularly enjoy how the second player is a different breed of goose. The main goose appears to be an Embden goose, a common choice of goose representation in the media, but the second player appears to be a white variation of the Chinese goose, which shares the same nose lump.
The update comes as a bit of a surprise to us. Untitled Goose Game took the gaming industry by absolute storm when it released last year. And while tremendously popular, it seemed to have been a completed and isolated experience. We wouldn't have been completely surprised by DLC or an update adding a new level, but the idea of a co-op mode was a rather welcome surprise.
The update will be free and will be released on September 23.
