For those of you that are still angry about having some of your Battlefield 1 beta time taken away, we have some good news. Two leading forces on Lizard Squad, the group that launched the DDoS attack on EA, have been arrested. They were charged with committing cyber crimes for DDoSing EA and for stealing credit card information. Lizard Squad had also said that they would attack EA again once Battlefield 1 was released.
The two arrested were 19-year-olds Zachary Buchta from Maryland and Badley Jan Willem van Rooy from the Netherlands. They each face up to 10 years in prison, which mean their next attack probably won't be until like Battlefield 8 or 9. When it comes right down to it, I don't really understand the logic in shutting down EA's servers. I mean, maybe you get bragging right if you're into that kind of stuff, but they're just going to have it fixed within 24 hours. Your "funny little prank" just cost you 10 years in prison for denying players 24 hours of gameplay. Pretty stupid.
Anyway, we won't be hearing from these guys for a while and hopefully, they wise up in their jail cells. Hopefully, they aren't in a cell block with some criminals that were upset about losing their Battlefield 1 beta time.
