Well, we still don’t know if he’s been successful in his attempts to sue Twitch. But I am delighted to report today that Twitch apparently thinks that this is a load of hogwash, and has responded to his lawsuit with one of their own: alleging that he had breached the Twitch terms of use 15 times, by streaming banned content and refusing to disclose that he was working with the website, which is a breach of FTC rules.
Varga’s case, which I remind you is still open, claimed:
“As a result of Twitch’s improper suspension of Varga’s Twitch.tv account, and also as a result of Twitch’s misrepresentation as to what content Varga was permitted to broadcast, Varga has incurred significant monetary damages.”
But in the counter-case Twitch is making, they say:
“Throughout 2016, Twitch personnel sent Mr. Varga various notifications and had in-depth Skype conversations with Mr. Varga informing him that his CS:GO skin gambling content, along with his other objectionable content, violated his Agreement, Twitch’s Terms of Service and Rules of Conduct,”
As for what Twitch is hoping to win, they’re apparently gunning for an undisclosed amount of money, but I really hope it’s a lot. I hope they bleed this man dry. Because he goddamn deserves it.
Screw non-biased reporting.
