Turok 2 Getting Remastered over Steam

It's always good to remember our heritage as we move forward with the medium, both as gamers and game designers. The benefit for game designers is obvious, building off the discoveries and innovations of the past, while gamers benefit from experiencing classics because they can sometimes provide more condensed, pure versions of games that are now bogged down by microtransactions and DLC: a reminder of how things used to be. Also, classic games tend to be hella cheaper. That's always nice.

Well, one such studio, a bastion for classic games, is Night Dive Studio, who remastered the original Turok quite a while back. And now, in a new blog post over steam, they're at it again, announcing that it's time for their remaster of the classic FPS shooter, Turok 2.

We're well aware of the demand for Turok 2 and it is still in development...in fact we started development just shortly after the launch of the first Turok. Turok 2 is a bigger game, more enemies, more weapons, more locations and most importantly...Turok 2 had Multiplayer.

Sounds exciting. I'll always support the return of the old games that we might risk losing to time if no one brings them to the 21st century... which Turok 2 only missed by two years but still, it's technically not there.

No release date was announced, but I hope it's soon!
