Trump is Banned on Twitch

Too little too late.

The sitting US president has pulled a lot of crap over the past five some years, but his latest stunt -- inciting a riot that was a thinly-veiled coup -- was perhaps his most stupid plan yet. It resulted in nothing, got people killed, and now he's desperately backpedaling in an effort to avoid having his name tarnished any more, as if his name wasn't already pure taint at this point. As a direct result of his actions and words, both Twitter and Facebook have banned him from their platform, realizing a little too late that the unhinged words of the most powerful man on the planet has consequences, and now Twitch has done the same... again.

A Twtich spokesman explains:

“In light of yesterday’s shocking attack on the Capitol, we have disabled President Trump’s Twitch channel. Given the current extraordinary circumstances and the President’s incendiary rhetoric, we believe this is a necessary step to protect our community and prevent Twitch from being used to incite further violence... we are focused on minimizing harm leading up to the transition of government and will reassess his account after he leaves office."

Needless to say, it's too little too late. These mediums should have been shutting him up weeks ago, when he refused to conceded and started spreading completely baseless rumors of a stolen election. By now, shutting him up does little but make him look like more of a victim and a martyr to his most brainwashed believers, and it won't make things a lick safer on the 20th when Joe Biden puts his hand on the bible in the open air to be sworn in as the next US president.

But hey, better late than never, I guess. We've got 12 more exciting days of fun before Biden officially begins his presidency. Let's see what happens in the meantime.
