Today, Ubisoft proudly announced that the beta for Tom Clancy Ghost Recon Wildlands was the biggest beta phase that Ubisoft has ever had. Between February 23rd to the 27th, over 6.8 million players from around the world participated in the Ghost Recon Wildlands beta. Over 2 billion minutes were played, and out of the total 6.8 million players, around 60% played in co-operative mode with their squad mates, discovering the beauty and horror that the game has to offer.
The open beta allowed players to explore two of the total 21 provinces available in the game, combating the Santa Blanca drug cartel along the way. While the goal of the game is to complete missions with your squad and eliminate the Santa Blanca cartel one at a time, players have the freedom to explore at their own will. The world is very much alive, and players will find themselves in altercations without fully even looking for a battle. Very much like Farcry, enemies roam around in vehicles, patrolling their many outposts and bases, requiring players to be extra careful when patrolling the wildlands.
Each province offers a completely different environment and experience. Some provinces are more challenging than others. Itacua, for instance, is a beautiful, mountainous area, while Montuyoc, located in the harsh and snowy Altiplano is much more challenging. As a thank you to those that participated in the beta, Ubisoft will gift player the Unidad Conspiracy reward. This reward grants players access to three exclusive missions set in the Media Luna region. For people who didn't participate in the closed or open beta, the Unidad Conspiracy package will be available for download after launch.
