Titanfall 2, a game that has failed to live up to the first game so far (despite not being released, it's hardly inspired the sort of fervor the first game so easily cultivated) and most people agreed was kind of 'meh' in the multiplayer demo, so if Respawn is going to compete with the other juggernauts in the FPS marketplace, they'll have to put their eggs in another basket. Considering the most requested feature of the first game was a single-player mode, and this new game will have one, perhaps that would be a good place to start?
Hey, speak of the devil:
It's nothing short of self-congratulatory hype, of course, a 3-minute ad for the final product, but it does show off footage, new gameplay, and it suggests, if nothing else, that this will be a fully fleshed-out experience, no mere tacked-on series of missions that merely emulates the multiplayer. And I appreciate that, if nothing else: they're putting in some effort.
We'll have to see if that effort is rewarded when the game is released, on October 28th, for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
