Titanfall 2 Technical Test Shows Improvement

Thanks Respawn!

So, a little while ago I wrote a little article about how awful Titanfall 2 was shaping up to be based on the first technical test. One of the biggest complaints I had about the test was the overall slow-paced feel to the game. With the second test being available, Respawn has made some serious changes. The wallrunning, jumping, and overall speed of the pilot felt equal to, if not better than the original game. It was great to see Respawn listened to the players and fixed this issue. The game feels less like a Call of Duty game, and more like a Titanfall sequel (which is probably the goal here).

Most gaming companies would just wait until full release to make major changes, but Respawn really proved themselves with Titanfall 2. They tried to shake things up a bit too much, got complaints from the fans, and quickly addressed the problem. I've gained a lot of respect for Respawn from this experience. The only major problem they may face now are "Titanfall" problems. Basically, the exact same issues from the first game. While Titanfall 2 is confirmed to have a single player campaign, players are still worried about a lack of content online. Titanfall was really cool when it first came out, then fell off significantly because there wasn't enough to keep players interested. They need to make sure that the maps are spot on, they quality DLC for the players, and that the game has more to offer. They need that special something that really makes the game go down in history. Now, I'm not sure what that is, but at the same time, it's not my job too. I hope Respawn has learned a lot from this technical test experience and delivers a fantastic game on October 28th!
