Despite the positive reviews, Titanfall 2 sales have not been the greatest. It debuted on US charts in 9th place and on UK charts in 4th. Not only that but deals for the title have been surfacing left and right before Black Friday has even begun. And hardly any other new games have fallen to such a state.
According to research firm Cowen & Company, who predicted poor sales of Titanfall 2:
"We think the game got squeezed between Battlefield 1 and [Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare]. We suspect EA believed that by launching two shooters next to Call of Duty it could put a large dent in its biggest competitor, but instead EA appears to have wound up shooting its own foot off."
So could there be a Titanfall 3? Who knows? Quite possibly, if sales resulting from discounts cause the game to grow substantially. Still it was always a bad idea to release a franchise like Titanfall between two main competitors.
