Titanfall 2 Releases New Trailer for Colony Reborn DLC

The next free DLC drop for Titanfall 2 is coming at the end of the month. Colony Reborn isn't necessarily content packed, but it definitely gets an award for style. Keep in mind that all of Titanfall 2's DLC is FREE for all players. The only thing that costs money other than the initial purchase of the game is in-game customization options like pilot/titan skins, weapon skins, and emblems. None of the microtransactions affect gameplay whatsoever and they're also some of the cheapest microtransactions I've ever seen in a AAA game. 

First up on the DLC list is the addition of new prime titan skins. Finally, fans of Scorch (guilty) and Northstar will be able to pimp out their favorite titan with the addition of 5 new nose art designs, 1 new warpaint, and 20 new camos. 20 new banners and patches will also be available. On the juicier side of the update, Respawn has brought back a classic Titanfall map; Colony. Colony is a cozy settlers town with plenty of rooftops to stim across and a huge potential for grappling. It will be interesting seeing how players manage to maneuver around the map with Titanfall 2's improved mobility.

On top of a new-ish map, the update comes with a new weapon as well. The R-101, while it is eerily similar to the very popular R-201, seems to be another versatile rifle. That's pretty much all we know about it so far based on its description. Colony Reborn introduces what is probably the most bad-ass of all the pilot executions called Curb Check. It looks like it's inspired by Scorpions classic "GET OVER HERE" attack with an extra hint of "hey guys face, meet the pavement". Whatever it was inspired by (scorpion...ahem) it definitely looks cool. 

On top of all this content, in celebration of Colony returning, there will be a 24/7 Colony playlist. Not only is this DLC free, but Respawn is also running a free trial period for Titanfall 2 from the 30th until April 3rd. Last but not least, players will also receive double XP until the 3rd. 

Titanfall 2 is going through hoops to provide players with the best overall experience possible while at the same time respecting our very sensitive wallets. Free DLC is becoming more and more common and Respawn is an example of a developer doing right by the community. Respawn will also be rolling out some big fixes and overall balances along with the DLC release. Specific details will be released closer to launch.
