Titanfall 2, despite not being exactly a hot topic anymore, now that people have seen the trailers and uniformly given the entire production a big ol' 'meh', is still trying to regain the hype that the first game had garnished and ultimately wasted. To that end, they decided a great way to show off all the cool stuff the new Titanfall 2 has to offer is with some sweet, sweet cross-promotional material. But unlike, say, Gears of War 4, where that cross-promotion is at least kind of meaningful, this is sort of more like straight-up boasting.
But I'll let you be the judge of that.
The point of this three-minute gameplay trailer is for NVIDIA to show off how it's latest graphic card is "the only consumer graphics card capable of playing Titanfall 2 at 4K, at 60 FPS, at the time of writing." This is swell, I guess, except the cheapest models you'll find will set you back around $630, while some are still being sold for around 1k a pop.
But then, having the best graphical fidelity and performance has kind of been the whole 'point' of having a gaming PC for a long time, so if that's your deal, then congratulations on having the best-looking Titanfall 2 matches. The rest of us will just have to settle for a 30-FPS blockfest with 8-bit explosions.
Which might be kind of cool and artsy, actually. Looks like you guys are missing out.
