Thumper, a new rhythm violence game, was just released yesterday for the Playstation VR. It's kind of a tough one to describe too. It's very similar to Audiosurf, but like, if Audiosurf was mean and aggressive. You play as a space beetle who is shooting down a very narrow pipeline. As your tearing this track up, you hover over small lights on the floor to create a beat. You also violently slam yourself into walls and move side to side in order to keep the music going.
With the pulses you create from your music, you send shockwaves down the tunnel to kill enemies ahead of you. I don't know if you can even call them enemies, as they supply you the lights to keep the beat. All I know for sure is that this game looks really crazy and I like that a lot. Thumper has 7 different worlds and each world has little stages that you complete as you fly down the wire. Will you be the space beetle to keep the beat and destroy everything in your path? Maybe. I'm not sure. I don't really know what the storyline is, and to be honest, I don't think it even has one.
Check out the video down below to see Thumper in action for yourself. You don't even need VR to play it. If you want to play it right on your television, you can pick up a standard copy of the game and go to town on some sick beats right now. Best of luck out there little beetles. It's going to be a loud and bumpy ride.
