Don your tin foil hats, folks. Crypto is back in modern quality to steal your cows, control your children, and blow up your mind. THQ Nordic has announced Destroy All Humans! 2020.

The only thing we see is an animated trailer of the protagonistic alien sowing the seeds of chaos in a suburban town in the 1960s. It concludes with a title card, listing the developers (Black Forest Games), THQ Nordic, the platforms it will be released on (PC, PS4, Xbox One), and a release window of 2020.

For the unabducted, Destroy All Humans! is an open world action-adventure video game from 2008. It was a satire/parody of film and media from the Cold War-era and its treatment toward aliens. In the game, the player controls Furon Cryptosporidium, referred to as Crypto. He is an alien tasked with extracting the DNA from human brains to save his own race.

Destroy All Humans! will release sometime in 2020 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

UPDATE:

An official Steam page has appeared for the game. It has a variety of in-game screenshots, giving us a look at how the game actually will look. It also has an official description that (more or less) confirms that it is a remake of the original game that also includes bonus content. It does not reveal the price, however.

The cult-classic returns! Terrorize the people of 1950s Earth in the role of the evil alien Crypto-137. Harvest DNA and bring down the US government in the remake of the legendary alien invasion action adventure. Annihilate puny humans using an assortment of alien weaponry and psychic abilities. Reduce their cities to rubble with your flying Saucer! One giant step on mankind!

  • Experience the evil side of a 50s alien invasion story
  • (Re)Discover why this game is considered one of the funniest ever created
  • Faithfully rebuilt from scratch in new galactic glory
  • Enjoy Crypto's unique weaponry like the Anal Probe Gun
  • Pose as pathetic humans to infiltrate their fragile democracy
  • Use psychokinesis to send enemies flying or bombard them with random objects
  • Freely traverse explorable cities from 50s America using your jetpack
  • Obliterate humanity's primitive architecture with your flying saucer
  • Includes the restored, much-rumored, never before seen: Lost Mission of Area 42!
