It's Fate/Grand Order, to be fair.

With how big it's gotten, you'd think that Fortnite is the most talked-about game of 2019. But as it turns out, it's not. According to Twitter themselves, Fate/Grand Order is the most talked about game of the previous year.

A Twitter blog post by Rishi Chadha, Head of Gaming Content Partnerships, recently revealed all of the biggest gaming trends of 2019 on the social media platform. And interestingly, the top talked about the game was not Fortnite. As a matter of fact, it's not even a game most Americans would recognize: Fate/Grand Order, the free-to-play mobile game.

The top ten list of most talked about games is as follows:
  • Fate/Grand Order
  • Fortnite
  • Final Fantasy
  • Identity V
  • Granblue Fantasy
  • Ensemble Stars
  • Monster Strike
  • PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds
  • Minecraft
  • Super Smash Bros.
These results may be surprising to western audiences, myself included. What even is Identity V? This really goes to show the language and cultural barriers between western nations like the US and UK, and the eastern countries like China and Japan. But just because our conversations don't overlap, doesn't mean they aren't still talking.

This also lends credence to Minecraft. The game has been publicly available for over a decade and still manages to be among the top 10 discussed games.

The blog post also details a variety of other gaming top-10 topics, such as eSports team, gaming events, and internet personalities. The results are more or less as you'd expect, with E3, Ninja, and FaZe leading their respecting charges.
