Although it has not yet been confirmed by Nintendo, it is believed that the Wii U version of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been officially canceled. According to various sources, the Zelda title on Wii U has been removed from several major retailers. I decided to look into this a little bit on my own and Breath of the Wild can still be pre-ordered on Amazon for Wii U. In many of the reports, sources have said that the game has been removed from Amazon, but clear as day I can see it sitting there.

Perhaps Nintendo has talked to retailers to let them know of the cancellation, but they don't want to make the game unavailable until the official announcement has been made. Or maybe the game won't be canceled at all and people are making assumptions based off of false information.

Lately there has been a ton of rumors surrounding Nintendo. Whether it be this one about Zelda or the one a few days ago about the GameCube Virtual Console being added to the Nintendo Switch. You would think Nintendo would make some statements regarding all of these "leaks" that are being broadcast to the world, but they've remained very quiet. Hopefully the majority of this confusion is cleaned up during their presentation in January, but until then I think it's your best bet to just ignore what you hear and wait for the official announcement from Nintendo. While rumors might be promising amazing things and really get your hopes up or spread something terrible to make you upset, at the end of the day they're still just rumors. Let Nintendo make the announcement and then cry or cheer accordingly.
