This information reached gaming site letsplayvideogames a few weeks ago. They held onto it due to lack of evidence, but when CD Projekt Red's community lead, Marcin Momot, made a teasing tweet, the site thought it might hold true after all.
"What if Geralt was going to step out of the @witchergame for the very first time to make an appearance in one of the upcoming games later this year?"
Marcin Momot hints at the idea of making a cameo appearance in an upcoming game, accompanied by a GIF of Geralt's face in high resolution.
Tipsters aside, why should we believe this? Soulcalibur's publisher, Bandai Namco, helped CD Projekt Red distribute The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in Western Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. The idea of them collaborating with two extremely successful IPs doesn't sound that out of reach. Geralt would also be a solid fir for Soulcalibur's visual style. But cohesion was thrown out the window with Yoda and Darth Vader.
Now that we're hearing anything at all, we expect to hear a formal announcement fairly soon. Perhaps at this year's E3. Soulcalibur VI will be coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One later this year.
