The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, of which you can read the review of here, has received plenty of free DLC since release, ranging from cosmetic items to quests, but sometimes the popular RPG needs a break from releasing content in order to focus on bettering the overall experience.

With that said, patch 1.07 is lurking just around the corner for all platforms. This newest patch will unfortunately contain no free DLC, but instead change inventory management and improve a few other gameplay issues -- a great idea, considering inventory has always been a tad excessive and complex.

In Patch 1.07, several options have been added so you can sort your inventory. For instance, books finally have their own tab and, when read, "gray out." The weights from alchemy and crafting materials have been omitted, and several stash, bank-like areas have appeared throughout various locations so Geralt doesn't always have to carry so many items. Of course, there are some other changes such as bug fixes and improved horse AI, so we'll just list the official partial patch notes below:
  • A new, alternative (optional) movement response mode for Geralt.
  • A player stash for storing items, available in various locations throughout the game. Stash locations are marked on the player's map.
  • Crafting and alchemy components no longer add to the overall inventory weight.
  • Books are now placed in a dedicated tab in the inventory and books that have already been read are properly grayed out.
  • Alchemy formulas and crafting diagrams can be "pinned", meaning all components and ingredients required to make them will be conveniently marked in the Shop panel.
  • Dozens of fixes for quest related issues, both major and minor.
  • A few performance enhancements, including the optimization of FX, scenes and general gameplay.
  • Various improvements to horse behavior.
The full patch notes will be released in just a few days. All in all, a large patch and a welcome one, but no worries, we will continue to see free DLC after.
