Today is the day. What day, you might ask?

The day Final Fantasy XIV fans can pre-order the Stormblood expansion, which launches June 20, 2017. The title, like Heavensward, will be available physically and digitally. There will be a physical and digital collector's edition as well for both the PlayStation 4 system and Windows PC. However, the digital version will only be available for Mac.

Let's first talk about the physical Stormblood Collector's Edition. The following content will be available with this title:
  • Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood
  • Stormblood Special Art Box
  • Expertly Crafted Zeno yae Galvus Figure
  • Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood Art Book
  • Cloth Map of Eorzea
  • Stormblood Logo Sticker
Exclusive in-game items:
  • Syldra Mount
  • Wind-Up Bartz Minion
  • Chicken Knife
Those who have the digital CE edition will only receive the exclusive in-game items.

Players who pre-order Stormblood will also receive the following bonuses:
  • Early Access to Stormblood scheduled to begin on June 16, 2017
  • A Wind-up Red Mage Minion
  • A pair of Ala Mhigan Earrings
  • Exclusive Theme and Avatar (PlayStation Network purchases only)
Furthermore, there will be a digital upgrade option for those who want to upgrade to the collector's edition for the in-game bonus items but don't care to have the physical items.

For newcomers to the MMORPG, a complete edition bundle including Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward, and Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood will also be available in June 2017 upon release of Stormblood. However, the pre-order bonuses will not be available with this bundle.

Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood is due to launch on June 20, 2017. The Warrior of Light joins the resistance and face the Garlean Empire in the vast land of Ala Mhigo. Players can look forward to the following features in Stormblood:
  • A new level cap increase (60 -> 70)
  • Two new jobs, including red mage (However, we all know that Samurai is the other job)
  • Exploration of underwater environments with swimming and diving (Can't wait!)
  • Battle system updates
  • New beast tribes and primals
  • New dungeons
  • High-level raid: "The Bend of Time - Omega"
  • New alliance raid: "Return to Ivalice"
  • The Forbidden Land of Eureka
  • New gear and crafting recipes
  • A fourth residential district
  • Expanded item inventory and more!
For those interested in Stormblood and have taken a break from Final Fantasy XIV, you should take the time to hop in now and enjoy the 3.5 Main Scenario Quests. After all, to fully enjoy the future main scenario, you'll need an understanding of the current one.
