The Team Working on Breath of the Wild Emulator is Getting Paid

Quite a bit actually.

When it comes to Nintendo games and platforms, people have always been trying to make emulators. There are plenty available for GameCube, Gameboy, Nintendo 64, and the list goes on and on. Well, CEMU is a small group of Zelda fans and they are currently working on an emulator for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Breath of the Wild is one of the highest rated games of all time and has been blowing up the gaming scene since release. Since you can only play the game on the Switch or Wii U, certain Zelda fans are unable to experience the game and really want to play it for obvious reasons. You can see more about the improvements made on the emulator right here. Not only is this company working on the emulator, they're also receiving quite a bit of support from fans.

The team has originally been working on it for free in an attempt to spread the game to more players. Well, people really appreciated that and it has been reported that the small team is now receiving upwards of $23,000 a month from donors who really want this emulator to be completed perfectly and efficiently.

While I don't condone the use of emulators in this scenario, I do understand why people want it so badly. The game is amazing, but you have to be careful and have a bit of a conscience here too. The developers worked hard for a long time to bring this amazing game to life, so you might want to think twice before you decide to take advantage of them and download their title for no cost. I don't think that little sentence is going to stop anybody, but it was worth a shot.
