As we draw ever closer to the release of the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, more information about the game has come to light, like how the game disc is missing 2/3rds of the game.
According to information on the official Spyro website, the upcoming remaster's physical game copies will come with a single disc, containing the first of the three games in the trilogy. It clarifies that the other two games, Ripto's Rage and Year of the Dragon, will need to be downloaded using an internet connection.
These games will be available as part of a day one patch for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Activision justifies the decision to PlayStation Lifestyle by saying that post-purchase updates are "quite common" in today's age. "The language on packaging and on the web is to let players know the requirements for Spyro Reignited Trilogy."
The difference here is that these day-one patches usually include small content updates like cosmetics, and bug fixes that didn't make it into the physical production version of the game. Missing over 60 percent of a game is another thing.
This won't affect anyone purchasing the game on PC or as a digital download. The Spyro Reignited Trilogy will release on September 21.
