The next monthly update for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds will be a big one, and with it comes one of the most highly requested features since the game launched back in late March: First-person only servers. Brendan Greene, aka, PlayerUnknown himself tweeted out earlier today that they will be making "hardcore" servers that will be first-person only. He also mentioned that they will only be adding these hardcore servers for EU/NA Solo and Duos until they really polish it.
If you're unfamiliar with PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, then you may not see this as a big deal, but for the community, first-person only servers are a big deal. The current third-person system in Battlegrounds gives players an unfair advantage over people who choose to use first-person since it allows you to peek and use angles of sight that would be otherwise impossible in first-person. This forces players to play in third-person, and it enforces a slow-paced, campy playstyle.
These "hardcore" servers will offer a totally separate gameplay experience to the classic servers and overall, they will most likely provide players with a much more challenging experience as if it wasn't hard enough already. Either way, this is a highly anticipated feature, and we should be getting our hands on it very soon.
