"Based on the influential and globally beloved Mega Man franchise, Capcom aims to appeal to a diverse audience, including not only game players but action movie fans as well, with an adaptation that maintains the world of the Mega Man games, while incorporating the grand production and entertainment value that Hollywood movies are known for."
Yeah. Not a lot. And today’s news doesn’t give us a whole lot more information, but it does remind us that this movie exists, which is frankly something I needed, since I completely forgot.
Anyway, The Hollywood Reporter just revealed that the project has a new writer attached to it: Mattson Tomlin.
That… still doesn’t tell us a lot. Mattson Tomlin is currently involved in the upcoming reboot of The Batman, but otherwise his only real film credit is back in 2012, when he wrote a feature-length version of the Solomon Grundy story.
So yeah. That’s all. No plot summary, no release date, no actors, just a new writer. It’ll be a long time before this sees the light of day, I wager.
