A classic adventure comes to Legend of Zelda fans once again. Link's Awakening, the Game Boy title from 1993, is being remade for the Nintendo Switch.
Announced as the conclusion to the most recent Nintendo Direct, The Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening has been "re-imagined" for the Nintendo Switch console. Rebuilt from the ground up, it features modern quality graphics and sound along with the design and lore that made the original game so great 25 years ago.
Link's Awakening takes place just after the events of Oracle of Seasons/Ages. The titular hero was sailing back to Hyrule when a rough storm had sunken his ship. Unconscious, Link washed ashore on the island of Koholint. A local owl informs Link that in order to return home, he must awaken the Wind Fish.
I can't get over the graphical style of this remake. Nintendo went with a polymer clay like look. It's absolutely adorable. Interesting, considering some of the darker concepts introduced later on. Either way, I can't wait to play.
Link's Awakening 2019 will release on Nintendo Switch as some point this year. Want to learn about the other games Nintendo announced in their February Direct? Check out our break down of it.
