Okay, here's a game that should be on the alert list for those needing more hack n' slash games in their life: Furi. Slated for the PlayStation 4 and PC in 2016, the recently announced Hack n' slash title screams amazing--probably because it's being developed by The Game Bakers (composed of Ubisoft and other AAA veterans) and designed (at least the guardians) by famed Afro Samurai creator Takashi Okazaki.

Furi focuses on one-on-one fights against fierce guardians, utilizing ultra-responsive controls and gameplay. Even more unique is that the hacking and slashing is combined with dual-stick shooting, creating a hellish landscape easily capable of destroying you.

Here's the plot, simplified in one fell quote:

"You were captured. Look what they've done to you... time to wake up! The jailer is the key, kill him and you'll be free."

What's the point of battling these guardians? To escape a prison and find out what's beyond the final gate (my guess is more prison, just as an evil plot twist). Don't think you can mindlessly plow through enemies--The Game Bakers will prevent that, instead demanding your focus and skill to defeat your adversaries.

Did I mention that the theme in the trailer is eargasmic? Because it totally is. Speaking of music, the game's soundtrack will be composed by up-and-coming electro musicians like Carpenter Brut, the creator of the trailer's theme.
According to Creative Director Emeric Thoa on the announcement of Furi:

"I have long dreamed of making a game of pure boss fights, with a focus on dueling and besting enemies who rival your own skill and strength. Furi is designed with Japanese action games in mind - games that reward skills and reflexes, with a character that reacts immediately, like Devil May Cry, any game from Platinum, or even the Super Punch Out series."

Look forward to more news about this badass title in the upcoming months.
