One of the most most exciting moments of this year's E3 was the South Park segment of the Ubisoft conference. Matt Stone and Trey Parker themselves arrived on the scene to gush about the upcoming game, South Park: The Fractured But Whole. They talked about the upgraded gameplay and the new story. Plus, there were plenty of screenshots and videos showing everyone's favorite, foul-mouthed 4th graders playing super heroes.
Fart jokes never get old.
Entertainment Weekly caught up with Stone and Parker to discuss the game and future of South Park. During the interview, many surprising revelations came about. First was the fact that the duo originally was planning to write a script for another movie, but decided to dedicate their time to a new game instead. In fact, Parker admitted that they treated the game the same way they would have handled the film: seriously. Perhaps one of the most shocking answers focused on the future of the show and franchise. The answer began on the vague side. However, Parker said that video games could very well be where South Park ends up. I know such a concept would be unthinkable even five years ago, but considering where technology is heading these days, that's not so unbelievable anymore.
