The Forest, the popular woodland survival horror game, will be coming to PlayStation 4 on November 6.

Anna Terekhova, Game Developer for Endnight Games Ltd, made the announcement on the PlayStation Blog. She highlights all of the best qualities of the game, ranging from the freedom of the world to the fully interactive environment. Not to mention multiplayer support.

In The Forest, you play as a father who lost his son in a plane crash. Stranded and alone, you have to build shelter, forage for food, and otherwise survive the wilderness. But once night falls, you discover that something far more treacherous than the elements. And whatever it is, it knows about you.

The game features a large wilderness area to explore and scavenge from. Everything available in the world is available from the very beginning. All crafting recipes and methods are available from the start, it's just a matter of finding the supplies for it. At night, you have to stay hidden or defend yourself from a cannibalistic tribe of.. somethings.  When you're ready to tackle them at the heart, a number of interconnecting caves where they spawn can be explored to discover something greater.

The Forest for PS4 features multiplayer co-op. Players can work together in their quest to save their son. The developers "feel multiplayer is the best way to experience The Forest, playing with up to three other friends for the ultimate survival horror experience."

The Forest launches on November 6, and will also be playable at PAX West this weekend. For more information, you can read the blog post.
