The official Fallout Twitter recently announced the inclusion of the Enclave in Fallout 76. This faction, who was featured heavily in the Fallout 2 and Fallout 3 games, was the last remnants of the United States Military, fighting to regain control over key government locations in the wasteland.
According to the tweet, the Enclave are searching Appalachia (what they're calling the game area) for a secret bunker.
"Just before the bombs fell, US leadership relocated to a remote Oil Rig off the coast of San Francisco. The Enclaves mission to re-establish governmental control of America from key locations, like a secret bunker hidden somewhere deep in Appalachia... "
Since the initial trailer, fans have speculated toward the inclusion of the Enclave. A fallen space center seen in early footage was rumored to be an Enclave establishment, for example. They were entirely absent from Fallout 4, however, giving concern that the faction had been laid to rest.
The secret bunker could be the Project Greek Island. In actual history, Project Greek Island was a secret government bunker built underneath the Greenbrier Resort. The location was confirmed to be part of the game by marketing exec Pete Hines. The Bethesda team even held a special press event at the real-life Greenbrier Resort not long ago.
It's been stated many times that Fallout 76 will not have any human NPCs. Instead, the players are expected to fill out the roles you'd normally see in a Fallout game. How the Enclave will be involved is currently unknown, but many players-to-be hope that they will be able to join the faction, operating in their interests.
Around the same time as the Enclave tweet, the Fallout Twitter also revealed two other potential factions, a team of "responders" who rush to the aid of those in need, and the "free states," a group of doomsday preppers.
Fallout 76 is a short ways away. It releases formally on November 14. Xbox pre-orders can participate in the BETA on October 23, while PC and PS4 pre-orders can on October 30.
