Ubisoft recently announced the developement of new game based on James Cameron's Avatar, and it's got fans of the Division a little concerned about the future of the game. The Division's community is worried, and rightfully so since this ambitious new project seems like it might get in the way of The Division's future DLC releases. To calm the nerves of Division fans, Ubsioft reassured everyone that their new project will in no way shape or form effect The Divisions future content. To add some icing to the cake, Ubisoft also announced their plans for two new free expansions to be released this year, but sadly, neither of them include new story missions.
The first expansion which will be released sometime this summer is focused around an event system that incorporates leaderboards, modifiers, and unique items only available through the events. The expansion will also introduce the much-awaited Loadout system so that Division veterans can better organize their weapons and gear. A feat system will also be introduced that will "reward players for different activitieslong-term activities, short-term activities, medium-term activities. Basically, our Division achievements, if you will."
As far as the second free expansion goes, creative director Julian Gerighty says that its too far out to get into, but he did say that it will be more content focused than the first one, with the exception of new story missions.
Also, to reward The Divisions loyal player-base, Ubisoft announced that they will be awarding players with 200 premium credits and a "premium celebration emote" to players who log in between March 9-16 in celebration of the game's anniversary. Although we might not be getting any new story missions for the second year of The Division, at least get free content, so we can't complain too much I suppose.
