The Descendant: Episode 1 Debuts on Steam March 24

In two days, people will be able to take part in a rather depressing adventure, set after apocalyptic mayhem in the world. Titled The Descendant, this game aims to send players onto a rollercoaster of hellish emotions.

It's a five-part episodic adventure game series beginning at the end of the world. The story is basically thus:

Climate change (yay) more or less sent the planet to hell. Only a few thousand people, or "descendants of humanity" were cryogenically suspended in underground bunkers called Arks. After several centuries, the world recovered from its former miserable state, and the humans within most Arks were "thawed." Keyword there: most. Turns out one Ark, Ark-01, didn't open.

You'll be thrust into two timelines in two different bodies. In the past, you'll be playing as Mia the janitor, who must keep the descendants in pristine condition...and alive, as the Ark-01 is failing. In the present, you'll be playing as Donnie, who is an investigator who is trying to rescue surviving descendants trapped inside, while uncovering a dark secret. Every action and choice leaves a big impact. In your hands are the fate of these survivors. What will you do?

Here are the key features:

• An episodic adventure spreading across multiple story-rich timelines 
• Investigative gameplay, challenging puzzles, tense action sequences 
• Meaningful and difficult choices with branching dialogue 
• A tailored experience, full of tension and drama 
• Every player choice can influence the future of mankind

Truth be told, this sounds rather amazing and fun. In fact, it almost sounds like a dramatic Telltale game full of hopelessness... but it's developed by Gaming Corps AB. Unfortunately, there could be a major turn off for people: it's episodic. It doesn't seem as if a lot of people care for this model.
