The 2017 Steam Awards Winners Have Been Announced

They're fair, but unsurprising.

After much community consideration, the Steam Awards have finally come to a conclusion. The award winners span from new blockbusters to classic hits, all that the Steam community felt were most deserving of their praise. None of the winners were really that surprising, though.

2017 is the second year for the Steam Awards. In 2016 Steam set up a new system where users could vote for their favorite games for the listed categories. This was designed to be a way for the gamers to award the games they loved and not an unknown entity. At least for games on Steam (sorry Horizons). Here are this year's winners:

Choices Matter
What game has the greatest importance to the decisions you make?
Awarded to: Witcher 3

Mom's Spaghetti
What game is so intense that you get knees weak and palms sweaty?
Awarded to: PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds

Labor of Love
What game has been out for a while, but still received more love and care than most games?
Awarded to: Warframe

Suspension of Disbelief
What game sounds crazy or insane when described, but is absolutely disregarded once you start playing?
Awarded to: Rocket League

The World Is Grim Enough Let's Just All Get Along
What game is a calm, relaxing, happy little game to contrast the normal grittiness of the world?
Awarded to: Stardew Valley

No Apologies
What game do you unapologetically love, maybe even a bit too much?
Awarded to: The Witcher 3

Defies Description
What game is the hardest for you to try and describe to others, while still being a fantastic game?
Awarded to: Garry's Mod

Cry Havoc And Let Slip The Dogs Of War
What game best lets you become an unrelenting ball of chaos and destruction, leaving nothing but ashes in your wake?
Awarded to: Just Cause 3

Haunts My Dreams
What game haunts you. Not in the spooky sense, but in the "I can't stop thinking about this game" sense?
Awarded to: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Soul Of Vitruvius
What game has the most perfect form, regardless of what character it was? The Vitruvian man of video games.
Awarded to: Rise of the Tomb Raider

Whoooaaaaaaa, Dude! 2.0
"The Academy wasn't clear enough in the awards description last year. Let's try this again. This award is for the Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas of video games."
Awarded to: Evil Within 2

Best Soundtrack
What game has the best tunes?
Awarded to: Cuphead

Even Better Than I Expected
What game actually manages to exceed the hype it generated?
Awarded to: Cuphead

You can see the official list of award winners, as well as the runner-ups (I am Bread almost won the Best Form award) on the official Steam Page.
