Rime, a new open-world island journey, is currently being developed by Tequila Works and was announced back in 2013. The game graphically is very simple, resembling the quality of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker back on Nintendo GameCube. In Rime, you play as a boy attempting to escape from a mysterious island and a terrible curse. You must solve puzzles, use the full potential of free-form exploration, and attempt to escape with your life.
When word first spread about Rime, it was confirmed to be a Playstation 4 exclusive. Recently, reports have surfaced and it might be coming to PC, Xbox, and the Nintendo Switch as well. This information was found on the Brazilian Game Ratings Board today. While I would love to see this game come to all consoles and PC, there's still a high chance that it will not.
This is a very tricky situation and I wanted to make sure I addressed it. Right now, plenty of websites are saying that Rime will definitely be coming out on all consoles and will not be an exclusive. Obviously the ratings board pages can be a credible source for information, but mistakes do happen. Diving past what I saw about the ratings board, I decided to check out a few other pages. The most interesting of which happened to be the game's page on Playstation's official website.
In my personal opinion, I would trust the word of Sony over the ratings board. If it's a game being produced specifically for them, I think it would be a fair assumption to believe that they would know where the developers were headed. On the page, it clearly states "Only On PlayStation" directly below the title.
Perhaps some false information has leaked into the world or maybe just a "whoopsie" by the Brazilian Game Ratings Board, but regardless, this isn't leaning one hundred percent in either direction right now. At this time, I cannot say that the game will without a doubt, matter-o-factly be released for every platform. This is definitely something that you should keep your eye on if you happen to be interested in Rime and don't have a PS4 to play it on. We'll keep you updated, but for now don't believe everything that you see about this game.
