A Guardians of the Galaxy game may be coming, And to top that off, Telltale may be handling it. They've already shown their chops by handling franchises like Batman, The Walking Dead, and even Game of Thrones. We know the game is planned thanks to the SAF-AFTRA strike. Part of the strike meant the union releasing a list of games that won't be affected by the work-stoppage. Among the titles was, you guessed it, Guardians of the Galaxy.
Something something moonage daydream.
Now given, the whole Telltale revelation is entirely speculation at this point. We know that Marvel and Telltale are teaming up for some kind of game in 2017. And we also know that both the Guardians of the Galaxy video game and Telltale's The Walking Dead: A New Frontier share a production house.
We can't know for sure until an official statement comes out. However, it would be an interesting experience. Telltale's story-driven games typically have a tragic element to them. Hell, The Game of Thrones one was downright depressing (in a beautiful way). But they have had a chance to be a bit more lighthearted with their take of the Borderlands franchise, so I'd be excited to see what they do.
