What is it with Batman games and the PC? Seriously, I thought the issues with the Arkham games could be blamed on Warner Brothers... being Warner Brothers. But even respected adventure game developer TellTale games can't even launch a Batman game for the PC without it suffering from some problems--namely, a laggy frame rate that kind of kills the experience for some.
Now, I suppose you could blame this on the fact the game is running a brand-new engine but at this point that seems less plausible than some ancient curse inflicted by the vengeful spirit of Bill Finger. Regardless, they exist, but hopefully they won't for long, as TellTale has just released a patch they hope will improve player's experience.
The patch will automatically adjust the game's setting according to the graphics card on a user's PC, and allows users to switch high-quality textures and graphics on and off. Telltale also recommends players update their drivers.
Unfortunately, according to many Steam users, the patch hasn't quite done away with the problem, and there are still ample framerate and lag issues in the first part of this episodic game. So, if you happen to be one such sufferer of lag, while we wait for TellTale to try and fix the issue again... maybe try making a sacrifice to the spirit of Bill Finger? I'm not saying it'll help, but... it won't hurt to TRY, right?
...I mean, I guess it depends what you're sacrificing.
