TellTale Lets You Rewrite the Past with the Story Builder

The first game is 6 years old, the picture isn't a spoiler anymore.

While Telltale games has been around for a good long time, it wasnt really until they released The Walking Dead six years ago (uggghhh) that they became the superstars of the adventure game genre that they are today. Subsequent releases have shown that the first season of The Walking Dead was pretty much just lightning in a bottle (in my opinion), with the second season being just weaker than the first and the third season just sort of existing. Still, the fourth and final season of the Walking Dead series (and presumably the wrap-up for Clementines story) is coming out on August 14, and Telltale is giving you the opportunity to change the past and undo any unfortunate decisions you might have made in any of the past games.

This opportunity is called the Story Builder, and its an interactive website where you can check out still images and a bit of a voiceover that explains all the major story points in the past three games. Its not enough to let you play the games for free via proxy, but if youve already played the games it should do enough to remind you what was going on and why the decision was important.

Since there are no spoilers or anything, you might wonder what the point of the Story Builder is: and the answer is simple. By logging into your Telltale account and linking it with The Walking Dead: The Final Season, you can import your choices and make them canonical for the final game. So you can either try to remember all the decisions you made in the past to tell a conclusive, honest story or you can remember that these choices are never as impactful as you think and you can just hit random buttons and itll probably turn out the same.

Either way, its pretty neat.
