Teenagers Think Xbox One is Cooler Than PlayStation 4

The console war is nothing new. For ages, men and woman have been up in arms over which console reigns supreme overall. The main two consoles in the war have always been Xbox and PlayStation. There's no room for rationality in this console war, only hardcore fandom. Why not both you ask? Well, for some reason that's not really a question people ask. Most adults can just purchase both. People love a good debate I guess. 

Anyway, in a recent study commissioned by google, it was found that teenagers as a whole think Xbox is cooler than PlayStation 4. While many educated people debate about the hardware of the consoles, or the UI and social features, teenagers obviously tend to just go with whatever's cooler. According to the study, children aged 12-17 thought that Xbox was the fourth coolest brand in the world, with PlayStation coming in at a modest 7th. Switching over to the millennials, and the report shows that people aged 18-25 thought that PlayStation was the cooler brand. Youtube obviously ranked #1 in the list while Netflix and Google came in at #2 and #3. 

As far as video games go, the study found that teenagers (born between 1999-2003) liked these video game franchises the most: The Legend of Zelda, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Grand Theft Auto, Pokemon, Minecraft, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Sadly, Nintendo doesn't seem to be very cool to the young gaming community, and neither is EA Sports. 

The study (done by Google) was designed to find out what brands young people enjoy the most. 1600 teenagers and 800 millennials were involved in the study between May and June 2016. Surprisingly, the study was titled "It's Lit", a guide for what kids think is cool. Keep in mind, this study measures brands based on "coolness", which is pretty subjective and opinionated.
