Just when you thought Lan Parties couldn't get more weird, a teenager in Norway was dealt the harsh reality of crashing off of energy drinks this Thursday, as he collapsed to the ground unconscious at school as a result. The teenager in question, Henrik Dahl, had consumed 8 liters of energy drink during a 16-hour Call of Duty Lan gaming session, causing his kidneys to shut down. As a result, he fell into a coma for about two weeks. After Henrik had woken up, he found his brothers "... sitting at the edge of the bed and crying." Since the incident, Dahl has regained his health, taking medication to reduce the high blood pressure caused by the drinks. He has also learned that "... it is not good to drink that much energy drink," and is starting to feel normal again.
Well, dude, what did you expect? If anyone remembers the Monster BFC cans, those were 32 oz, or about 1 liter. I dunno about you, but after I had one of those, I was shaking so bad it was like I had a temporary case of Parkinson's. I can only imagine that 8 of those (granted, it was over a 16 hour course) would probably put you out, considering that's like drinking a can of the stuff every 2 hours. Frankly, I'm impressed, in a morbid way. If you can tough all that out at 14 and still come out on top at the end, that's some respect. Obviously dumb as hell, but still garners respect. I'm sure a near death experience'll put the fright into him.
I know that KDR is important, but so is living.
