Tactless Publishers Make Websites to Flame Striking Voice Actors

Sorry guys, salt can't wash out that bitter taste in your mouths.

In a very large case of publicly airing dirty laundry, a coalition of some of the pettier game publishers have launched a website to specifically flame the voice and motion capture actors who are striking against the industry. The incredibly tactless statements, plastered on the site sagaftravideogames.com, comes across as a whining toddler screaming, "he started it!" at no one in particular. And one of the worst parts is that their argument starts in the most privileged way possible: by implying SAF-AFTRA shouldn't bite the hand that feeds them.

SAG-AFTRA has launched a strike against the very Video Game Companies that are the biggest advocates and largest clients of SAG-AFTRA talent in an industry that overwhelmingly uses non-union performers.

The rest of the webpage works as a series of excuses to shift all the blame on the striking workers. SAF-AFTRA members are painted as greedy and unreasonable for striking. However, that's an obviously insane claim. Strikes aren't fun. The union members can't continue making a living, and nobody likes to go through exhausting negotiations. In fact, labor strikes in America are almost unheard of. And on top of it all, this has been in the works for a while now.

Maybe I'm wrong in this, but something about publicly hosting a flame website doesn't quite say, "we're the good guys."
