Alright, Sword Art Online fans, it's a-coming. Bandai Namco officially announced today that Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization will be coming to the Americas in 2016 for both the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation Vita. The fourth installment of the Sword Art Online game series, Hollow Realization is a joint effort between the developers, Bandai Namco, and SAO creator Reki Kawahara. Together they will bring a spin on the series by offering a unique tale. Players will be thrust back into the feet of Kirito as he ventures into another VRMMORPG titled Sword Art: Origin. The game, being created on SAO's original servers, offers danger, excitement, and plenty of quests.
According to Eric Hartness, Vice President of Marketing at Bandai Namco Entertainment America, Inc:
"The Sword Art Online franchise has experienced incredible growth in popularity on a global level with light-novel and anime fans. We are excited to bring Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization, the next Sword Art Online game, to fans in the Americas.
With Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization, we're striving to take fans even further into Sword Art Online's VRMMORG world. We hope players are ready for the challenge."
