What happens when you give the SuperHot license to a Japanese studio? You get SuperHot JP. The work-in-progress title is referring to a new game in the SuperHot universe, set in traditional Japanese architecture and design.
The time-moves-only-when-you-move shooter was nothing less than innovative when it released in 2016. Creatively designed and incredibly unique, SuperHot would go on to receive numerous awards and honorable mentions. It would even get a VR version and a playable card game.
Developed by Gametomo, a Japanese studio, the recently announced game brings "red man" to the Eastern side of the globe. Fight at your own pace against an onslaught of enemies, in environments ranging "from samurai castles and hot springs to karaoke bars and bullet trains." Experience the game in a new UI design, canonically called Budd-OS.
There will be about 15-18 new regular levels and three to four endless levels. There will also be new weapons, such as a bow and arrow.
No word on when this spin-off game will be released, nor the price. It currently intends to come to PC and PlayStation 4. To keep up to date on the game as it is developed, visit Gametomo's website.
