Because the explicit parts feature real women.

Smooth sailing remains absent for the developers of the controversial game series, Super Seducer. The recently developed third game has been removed from Steam.

Back in 2018, seduction guru Richard LaRuina published his own video game on Steam called Super Seducer. The game, which consisted of live action scenes and player-made decisions, promoted itself as a how-to guide on seducing women. It quickly garnered a bad reputation in the industry, which found it sleezy and misogynistic. A few months later, a sequel was released, taking a more satirical, comedic, over-the-top approach.

Now they're back with a third game, except that Steam won't allow it. The game has been removed from the Steam Marketplace and the creator posted on Twitter explaining that the game was banned.

Steam have BANNED and removed Super Seducer 3 from the store. They will not allow it to be released in any form.

Screenshots posted with the tweet show a back and forth with a Steam administrator regarding the process. The Steam rep claimed that they, as they have said before, will not host games that have sexually explicit images of real people. They imply that this is after multiple back and forth efforts between the two. They still can not find an acceptable middle ground for publication standards.

Steam has been in a weird light regarding mature content over the last few years. While a large amount of explicit content has been published on the storefront, the platform has been taking additional efforts lately to remove anything with real-life characters being depicted sexually. At the time, there was an argument about Steam attempting to avoid becoming a general porn distributor, banning these games as a way to avoid a complicated legal process, but official information has been lacking.

Super Seducer 1 and 2 are still available on Steam, which makes us wonder how explicit the content in 3 must be for Steam to step in now.

All in all, we're not surprised. This behavior lines up with Steams goals as of late. What this means for Super Seducer 3 remains unsaid. Maybe the Epic Game Store will want it.
