Super Nintendo World is now officially open! The real-world amusement park based on Nintendos most prolific IP is now accepting the public. And to celebrate, the game company held an opening ceremony.
The park is located in one section of Universal Studios Japan in Osaka. Gaming forefather Shigeru Miyamoto, along with Universal Studios Japan head Jean-Louis Bonnier, were present at the grand opening event. The commemoration included a walk through the park and a grand hurrah at the entrance, shared by mascots of popular Mario characters.
The park will feature a variety of state-of-the-art attractions, including an augmented reality Mario Kart game. Attendees will also be able to participate in a park-wide meta game, performing special mini-games to collect tokens. When every token is collected, they can participate in a secret battle against Bowser Jr.
We will always love how happy Miyamoto looks during Nintendo events. The joy on his face is tremendously heartwarming.
Our poor American hearts ache for the chance to visit this tremendously interesting location. But a vacation to Japan isnt the easiest, especially right now. Fortunately for us, theyve already confirmed plans to expand and build a Super Nintendo World park in Singapore, Florida, and California. The Florida location is aiming to open their doors by 2025.
