Super Monkey Ball Gets Remastered and Bundled - E3 2021

Super Monkey Ball turns 20 this year, and in its two decades of existence, its given us a few iconic titles, several fine titles, and a few that we just don’t talk about lest the gods smite us for our impunity. And while getting our hands on a new Super Monkey Ball game to mark the occasion would certainly be swell, during Nintendo’s E3 press event, we got the next best thing: a remastered collection of the first three (and three best) games in the franchise: Super Monkey Ball, Super Monkey Ball 2, and Super Monkey Ball Delux. With all the mini-games and charm packed in.

Introducing Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania:



In a press release that followed the announcement, Masao Shirosaki, the producer and director of the game, shared this:

“I’m so excited to finally share this news with AiAi fans around the world. It’s an honor to be a part of such an iconic series with 20 years of history. Super Monkey Ball’s charm and playfulness is deeply rooted in its DNA, and we’re eager for our fans to experience the joy and wonder of the newest adventure.”

Also, in spite of it being announced during the Nintendo direct, the game will also be coming to Xbox and PlayStation as well. So no one needs to feel left out of this monkey party.

In any case, it launches October 5th for 30 bucks or so. Not bad for a heaping helping of nostalgia.
