Super Mario Run Will Get A Major Update

With the new iOS 11 in full force, one to come out of the showcasing was news regarding a large update for Super Mario Run. Expected to release September 29th, Super Mario Run will be receiving a free update that will implement a new game mode, a new world, and even a new playable character.

The new mode is known as Remix 10, Where the player runs through 10 miniaturizations of existing Mario levels in succession. You can't "lose" this game mode, as failure will just bring you to the next segment. Rainbow colored coins are sprinkled throughout the tracks, and accumulating enough these unlocks new items. The final grand prize of your coin grabbing efforts is a new playable character, Daisy. She will have a unique double jump feature that you will be able to use through any of the existing levels.

The update will also include a new world for the player to test their mettle against. Referred to as World Star, it consists of 9 new levels said to include new enemies, gameplay mechanics, and surprises to challenge even seasoned Mario veterans. This world will unlock after the player has completed all the other worlds available.

One small addition to this update is the ability to listen to your own music while you play the game. While not a major change, it is an excellent example of what it means to have Nintendo Polish. 

For the week prior to the update, players can get the in-app purchase that unlocks the full game for half price. For anyone on the fence about Super Mario Run, this is an ideal time to give it a chance.
