Super Mario Odyssey Will Have Co-op, Sort of

by During a gameplay showing in the Nintendo Treehouse at E3 2017, we got a little taste of Super Mario Odyssey and its newly revealed co-op feature. Before you get your hopes up, it's not the typical type of cooperative gameplay that you would imagine.
To sum it up, one player can play as Mario of course, but the other player can only play as Cappy. Obviously, these two roles are completely different, and each person will most likely have a much different gameplay experience. A player controlled Cappy can make certain puzzles faster and easier to solve, and Cappy is also invincible. Mario's role in the co-operative play will obviously be way more significant, but at least there is a co-op option in the game.
