"We estimate that the global sellthrough
of Super Mario Odyssey has already exceeded 2
million units in just its first 3 days."
Considering there is approximately 7 million Nintendo Switch owners total, this means in only three days Super Mario Odyssey has been taken up by 28 percent of all homes with a Switch. While there was the obvious spike at release accounting for a large majority of this, the holiday season is just over the horizon. More Switches and more copies of Super Mario Odyssey are going to sell faster than ever.
With Nintendo having hidden meekly in the background for years after the Wii U "failed," it looks like they have returned from their pilgrimage of gaming to grace us with their enlightenment, in the form of Mario and Zelda. I've been able to play some of Super Mario Odyssey, and I fully agree that it is an incredibly enjoyable and feel-good experience.
