Super Mario Maker 2 Official Release Date Confirmed!

Last February, Nintendo announced a slew of new games and features coming to the Nintendo Switch console. One of the most exciting reveals was for Super Mario Maker 2! At the time, they didn't have an official release date. But that is true no longer!

Super Mario Maker 2 will release on the Nintendo Switch on June 28,2019.

The announcement was made on Wednesday via the Nintendo of America Twitter account, along with a lovely graphic of Mario and Luigi in a maker environment.

Super Mario Maker was a massive hit when it released on the Nintendo Wii U in 2015. This updated sequel will feature a number of new features not present in the original game, while also being on Nintendo's best selling console since the Wii.

The price will be set at $59.99, the industry standard for a new Triple-A video game.

Looking at the graphic posted with the announcement, we notice a few things. There appears to be Toad in the world, perhaps there will be a selection of characters to play as, not just Mario. We notice that a Koopa is in a car, that might be something. And we notice that a Bullet Bill has the cat ears upgrade present in Super Mario 3D World (Cropped out in the header image). So that upgrade will be there.
